When faced with situations decisions are made instinctively. Reason is operative. But, where does it come from? Knowing just a little more about why we answer the way we do can help us live better lives.
This is what the following proverb alludes to:
“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters,
But one who has insight draws them out.”
~Proverbs 20:5 (NIV, 2010).
This is the enquiring mind at work. Many more people that aren’t naturally inquisitive could be if they just asked the question, “Why?” Then they would add to their discernment and knowledge of life. This is the most powerful thing.
What a gift education is. And what better nuance could there be to that gift than to teach ourselves how to learn? Knowing what makes up our reason and the reason others operate with—and especially why—is a grand blessing. It orders the spiritual life and gives pleasant power to the purveyor.
The person who owns this life is the one who can readily de-mystify it.
